travel poland gdansk old town

Old Town Gdansk is dominated by the Long Market and, along with the Motlawa waterfront, is the center of most activity.
Its clean and the architecture is attractive, but, the day we visited, although crowded with tourists, seem to lack a real vitality.
Perhaps we were tired.

"The 'Long Market'Polish: Długi Targ and German: Langer Markt in Gdańsk, Poland, is one of the most notable tourist attractions of the city.
It is situated between the end of Long Lane> (Ulica Długa, Langgasse) and Green Gate (Brama Zielona, Koggentor)."

This man is holding a bottle of Goldwasser, a favorite souvenir from Gdansk.
It is an old, famous, herbal, spicy liqueur, first produced in Gdansk in the XVIIth century.
It is made of rectified spirit, flavored by essential oils and distillate of many spices.
It has flakes of gold floating in it and is served as an addition to coffee and desserts.
